How a Repair Job Works

- 2You get a written scope: repair, replace or a mix of both, itemized.
- 3Approve the estimate, discuss financing if you need it, and pay the 50% deposit.
- 4We apply for any permits and schedule the repair during pour season, March through November.
- 5We make the repair and walk it with you. The remaining 50% is due at completion.

Which concrete cracks can be repaired?
Hairline and shrinkage cracks, and cracks that haven't shifted up or down, are good repair candidates. Wide cracks with one side higher than the other, or cracks that keep growing, usually point to a problem in the soil or base. Our repair or replace guide goes through the signs.
What causes spalling and flaking?
Most spalling around Indianapolis comes from de-icing salt and freeze-thaw. Water soaks into the surface, freezes, expands and pops off a thin layer. A surface that was over-worked or not cured well when it was poured is more likely to flake. Cutting back on salt is the best prevention.
Will the repair match my existing concrete?
Usually it won't match exactly. New material starts a different shade than weathered concrete, and the difference often softens over time. On decorative finishes the match is harder still. We'll tell you what to expect before any work starts.
How long does a concrete repair last?
It depends on what caused the damage and whether that cause is fixed. A repair on a sound slab, with the downspout redirected and salt kept to a minimum, can serve for years. Every repair we make carries our 3-year workmanship warranty on the workmanship.
When is concrete repair not worth it?
When cracking is widespread, the slab has sunk or broken in several places, or the surface has spalled across most of its area, repair money tends to be wasted. At that point, concrete removal and replacement gives you a fresh start.
